I’m passionate about helping you grow into your authentic self

Meet Tory

I enjoy working with high-achievers to find more fulfillment at work because I’ve been on that same journey myself, many times, and know just how important it is.

I started my career in academia, finishing a PhD in Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard back in 2012. But after two disheartening seasons on the faculty job market, I decided I’d had enough with academia. I chose to prioritize something that would pay me well and let me work in California — so in 2013, I took a job as a data scientist at Facebook.

Working in Big Tech for 7 years gave me a better understanding of how to run a business and provided financial security that would have been unimaginable working at a university. But Tech was never really a great fit for me. So in 2020, I took a leap to start my own business as a coach.

Now, on my 3rd career, I can see how important it is to bring my values into play when making decisions about my work, instead of just making decisions based on what appeals to me intellectually or what others consider important or prestigious. My values of freedom, service, balance and integrity all get honored daily in my work running my coaching business. I also get to spent plenty of time with my senior dog, Pinch.

Not sure what your values are or how you can bring them into more alignment with your work? That’s something we can work on together in coaching. I’ve now spent more than 1500 hours in 1:1 coaching, and still love how much I get to personalize each engagement to where the client is and what they’re looking for.

If my background and approach seem like a fit for you — reach out and let’s start a conversation.
